An Introduction to Composites in Aviation

Eirtech Aviation would like to introduce you to a special two day course on Composites in Aviation.  

Date : Thursday 13 and Friday 14 October 2016

Time : 09.00 – 17.00 (lunch and breaks provided).

Location: Mespil Hotel, 60 Mespil Rd, Dublin 4 (+353-01-488-4600). A preferential rate of 15% on the best available rate is applicable for participants on this course.

Cost : €600 per Attendee. The course fee includes refreshments and lunch during the day.

Course structure

The two day course includes lectures and handouts to support composite repair application and process.  Sample composite materials will be available for review during the course.  This is an interactive class with discussion and media content provided on composite repairs to enhance the learning experience.   

All delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of this course.

Guest lecturers

Dr. Alistair McIIhagger, Reader from the School of Engineering at the University of Ulster will be our guest lecturer to discuss the implications of composite defects.

Dr Alistair McIlhagger is a senior lecturer with specific interest in cure monitoring and control during the curing processes for composites, particularly liquid moulding processes using parallel plate dielectrics. More recently he has been concerned with the comparison of the performance of 3D woven with angle interlocked woven and unbalanced reinforcements for composite structures.

• Provide an understanding of the underlying principles and techniques associated with the manufacturing, inspection and repair of composite material structures.

• Familiarize participants with standard composite repairs.
• Identify the range of composite materials applied in the aviation industry.
• Case study analysis on composite repair challenges and outcomes.
• Discussion on various processes utilised in the application of composite repairs.
